More and more people have access to computers and the Internet
at home, school etc it all computer systems are at big risk of
getting infected with a computer virus, here will give you ten
tips on how to avoid this and protect your computer.

·Install a good ant virus program in your computer, there are
many free versions out there but it is better to buy a trusted
ant virus program in your local computer store.

·Keep your ant virus software updated, this way your system
will always be protected/

·Backup important files at least once a week, you don't need
expensive software to do this, use a cd burner and make copies
of your most important documents.

·Be careful when opening email attachments, if you receive
something that you don't trust simply delete the email don't
open the attachment.

·Use plain text in your email program, html emails can open
wholes in your computer and you could end up with a virus.

·Be careful when downloading programs for free online, some of
this program will record your Internet activity, read their
privacy policy before installing them in your pc.

·Setup your ant virus program to monitor instant message
programs since other people are able to send files using this
type of software.

·Scan your floppy or cd roms when you bring a disc from another
computer.

·Run a virus scan in your computer at least twice a week.
